| Football Season Concludes After Playoff Run The Lausanne Lynx football season came to an end on Friday, November 21, with a tough loss at Franklin Road Academy in the state semifinals. The defeat closes a competitive and memorable season that showcased the team’s strength and resilience. Just a week earlier, the Lynx secured a decisive 35-6 win over Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK) in the quarterfinals, a game that launched them into the semis. Earlier postseason play included a 35-12 victory over Davidson Academy, marking a strong start to Lausanne’s playoff campaign. Throughout the fall, standout performances defined the season, including a major 49-35 win over Collierville, where TJ Jenkins ‘26 delivered a memorable performance with 366 passing yards and five touchdowns, plus two rushing scores. Jawell Rodgers ‘26 also set a school receiving record with 254 yards and four touchdowns. Congratulations to TJ Jenkins ‘26 on being named a semifinalist for the Titans Mr. Football Award and Lawrence Britt ‘27 for being voted the top high school football player entering the TSSAA playoffs. In addition, Lausanne honored 22 senior student-athletes from the class of 2026 representing all fall varsity sports during a Friday night home game against Northpoint, celebrating their leadership and contributions to Lynx athletics. Basketball Season Tips off Strong High school girls basketball opened the winter campaign in The Lair with a dominant 55-24 victory over Ridgeway. The performance energized the student body and set the tone for the season ahead.The Lynx also had a matchup on November 20 against St. George’s in the Nikki McCray Classic at Collierville High School. Across all divisions, teams have begun tournament play and early-season preparation, building momentum for the months ahead. Cross Country Concludes Season at State The Lausanne girls’ cross-country team capped off their season at the TSSAA State Championships at Shelby Farms, delivering a strong showing against the top competitors in Tennessee. The group of girls competing included Liya Shimony ‘27, Darya Shimony ‘28, Arielle Schwartz ‘27, Claire Parker ‘27, Asha Lyons ‘27, Zoe Pretzer ‘29, and Juanita Duffy ‘28. Prior to the state meet three runners – Asha Lyons, Zoe Pretzer, and Claire Parker – had running times that placed them in the top 15 in Division II-A. With no seniors on the roster, the group gained valuable experience that positions them well for the 2026 season. The boys’ team ended their season with a sixth-place finish at the regional meet, just three points shy of qualifying for state. Cheer Team Competes at StateThe high school cheerleading team traveled to Knoxville for the 2025 TSSAA Cheerleading State Championship after a focused week of preparation and a spirited team walk-through. The squad represented Lausanne with energy, discipline, and school pride on the state stage. Swim Team Opens With Strong Early Meet Lausanne’s high school swim team started their season with an impressive early meet. Across events, swimmers collectively dropped over one minute of total time, with several individuals shaving up to seven seconds off their personal records. Results from the meet on November 18 include:Gabrielle Booth ‘26 placed 4th out of 61 swimmers in the 50-yard freestyle – finishing less than a second away from qualifying for state. Katie Young ‘27 and Will Kenworthy ‘27, both first-time swimmers, had an impressive debut meet, collectively dropping 18 seconds across their events. Jason Xuan ‘26 delivered a strong performance in the 100-yard breaststroke, taking multiple seconds off his previous best time. Lausanne’s mixed relay team – Gabrielle Booth, Andrew Sumpter ‘26, Ari Schwartz ‘27, and Jason Xuan – placed 8th out of 20 teams, setting a new personal record of 1:48.12.Coach Andie Weaver compliments the group camaraderie: “One thing about our team is not only are the swimmers dedicated to their own growth, but the growth of every member on the team.” Volleyball Begins New Era Under Alumna Coach Lausanne proudly welcomed Daija Patton ‘17 as the new Varsity Girls Volleyball Head Coach, marking a meaningful homecoming for the former collegiate standout and decorated Lausanne athlete. “There’s nothing more special than giving back to a program that has given so much to me,” Patton said. The team celebrated Senior Night with a 3-0 sweep over Pleasant View, closing out the regular season with momentum before finishing postseason play in the tournament. With a young roster and new leadership, Lynx Volleyball looks forward to building on this year’s foundation. Soccer Posts Impressive Record and Postseason Wins The high school girls’ soccer team delivered a standout fall campaign. Lausanne improved to 8-1 overall and 4-0 in district play following a dominant 6-0 win over Westminster, scoring five goals in the first 20 minutes.In postseason action, the Lynx advanced with a 4-0 win over FACS, powered by goals from Madeleine Auger ‘27 (2), Sofia Lima ‘29, and LJ Smith. Tournament play earlier in the season also included a dramatic 1-0 overtime victory against Trinity Christian Academy. Though the team faced tough competition from ECS and St. George’s, their season showcased depth, skill, and teamwork – a strong platform for future success. Congratulations to Issa Syali ‘27 and Isabella Pizzimenti ‘28 for making the West Tennessee All-Star Soccer Team. Tennis Celebrates Back-to-Back Championships Lausanne;s high school tennis program was recognized this fall for its remarkable achievements in the previous spring season. The boys’ team celebrated its fourth consecutive state championship, while the girls’ team earned its second straight state title. Both teams received their state championship rings during halftime of a home football game, honoring their continued excellence and dominant presence in Tennessee high school tennis. A Fall Season to Remember This fall showcased the spirit, talent, and determination of Lausanne’s high school athletes. From thrilling playoff runs and state championship celebrations to strong season openers and emerging talent across every program, the Lynx demonstrated excellence on and off the field. As winter sports continue, the achievements of the fall season provide momentum, pride, and excitement for what lies ahead in Lausanne athletics.
